Saturday morning started early on the ice, with some anglers following me out. This is a valuable service that I and other outfitters offer to help anglers who aren’t out there every day, ensuring a safe passage to their desired fishing location. I arrived at the Kipling public launch and looked out at a perfectly level blanket of white. Fresh overnight snowfall had left the surface pristine, without a single trace of the previous day’s travel. I’m not sure the picture for today’s post captures it as well as seeing it. As the day progressed, temperatures rose into the upper 20s—another perfect day to spend on the Noc. However, any reports of anglers catching walleyes lately indicate they are either lucky or working really hard for them. Keep at it, and never doubt the abundance of fish under the Little Bay de Noc ice.
