A fresh inch of snow fell on the bay this morning. With the recent strong winds now calmed, the conditions for fishing have taken a favorable turn. The new snow layer will likely obscure some natural light, potentially stimulating fish activity and improving the bite for the upcoming weekend. Additionally, the full moon anticipated on Monday is another positive factor that may help the bite.
Pressure cracks are still treacherous but firming up well. Just a little harder to see with the new snow cover. As we enter the weekend, the presence of more anglers on the bay calls for a reminder on ice etiquette. Please maintain a respectful distance from others while fishing; staying at least 50 yards away from adjacent shacks is recommended. Should you find yourself drawn closer, consider bringing a pie to foster neighborly goodwill.
Increasing your odds,
