Quick Change

What a difference a day makes.”On Sunday afternoon, a machine on tracks was the only way to traverse the bay as snow depths were reaching the point where some speed was needed to get anything on tires through without bogging down or getting stuck in a drift, or worse, hung up in a deep shack scab. That’s a bygone problem thanks to the brilliant sunshine and temperatures reaching 56° today. To get from the Kipling Landing to the reefs, just follow the Kipling River Road/Waterway as pictured in this post. Free under flush. Exercise caution as ice conditions will change rapidly with above-freezing temperatures continuing into Wednesday. Pressure cracks we’ve been driving over will start to open slowly, and then surprise! There may be 1-3 feet of open water in that split of ice since you last crossed.

Increasing your odds,
