Last Weekend Of January

Saturday night on the Noc, the lightly snow-covered bay has had some traffic. It could only be better if the wind would calm down and fish swam up holes in the ice. Some anglers have reported an aggressive bite. Walleyes, ranging from nice eaters during prime feeding times to a midday hog cruising for an easy snack, have been harvested. The big ones seem to prefer tip-ups and dead sticks. Rip hard to bring them in, and let your minnows do the rest. You can count on a meal of perch every day if you work at it on Little Bay de Noc. However, some ice anglers do struggle until they change what they thought were good techniques. If you’re not getting action, change something. If you’re not marking any fish, move on.

Mild weather conditions and minimal fishing pressure during the coming weekdays could likely lead to an epic time on the Noc. It’s a good time to call in scared and go fishing. A Sunrise pic was my favorite today. Enjoy!

Increasing your odds,
