Not good for friends of the hard water. It’s raining today with temps at 37 degrees. Snow is coming in for the overnight but temps will remain above freezing until later Saturday. The ice is pulling away in various places around the Little bay de Noc shoreline. Once getting on the ice there can be up to 8 inches of ice. 50 yards away you might find 3-4 inches. Light machine travel has slowed as wise anglers on the move are back to foot travel. Fish have become finicky the last 24 hours. A lot of marks with little action. Ending my report today from a wet, sloppy and slippery Days River landing. Don’t forget ice cleats.
Rain, rain go away! For a polar vortex I will pray. Please give us ice thats safe to play.
